Never thought I would say this but having seen this car in person, the “burnt orange” is a stunning color, would easily own this one even though I am not a “flashy car color” person. What makes it worse is that since a friend of mine bought an Aston Martin DB7 years back I have always regarded Aston Martin's as cheap, badly assembled kit cars. This view changed a while back.
The DB7 was the worst quality car I had ever seen, the windscreen rubber did not fit and was not a single assembly. Where the two ends of the rubber met it was sealed with what looked like silicone sealant from a hardware store. Just about every part of the car looked like someone without mechanical skill made odd parts fit where they were not supposed to. I still remember when the side mirror fell off and Aston Martin quoted the price of a house to replace it. From a quick web search this still seems to be something owners struggle with, DB7 parts falling off the car.
At first I thought this particular car was just a bad example, every DB7 I saw after that seemed to be the same though, a badly assembled kit car.
Enough about DB7's and Aston Martin kit cars. This all changed when I recently went to look at an Aston Martin V8 Vantage that was up for auction locally. Getting my 6 foot+ frame into the car was not as much of a challenge as I thought it would be and once inside it was what I could only describe as a hugging, comfortable speed cocoon. To my surprise the Aston Martin Vantage looked like an actual car, not a “fraken monster”.
Suffice to say I was so impressed with these cars that I bid on it to beyond what would be considered a good price. Ever since I have been looking out for good deal on one of these.
At AED 260,000 this one is not a steal but definitely not at the upper range of what these go for and you do get a unique and very attractive example. Might just go over and look at it now, yes this burnt orange example is that attractive !
